This page will provide you with a chronological list of major updates to this site.  We are constantly working to add new resources, especially in our inventory of Business and Research Programs located in our Members Only section.  Be sure to visit the What's New page often to keep up to date on the new features.

5/19/07  Library Changes From Citrix Interface to Provision Interface.

      The Law Library is no longer using the Citrix Metaframe interface for remote access to library CDs and services.  The new interface is Provision.  Members may uninstall the Citrix program if they wish to do so.  Members must now download the Provision client from the link on the login page and install it on their workstation.  Installation instructions are also available on the login page.

6/20/06 Loislaw Added

     Library members can now access all 50 state's codes and cases as well as all reported federal cases  and the U.S. code on Loislaw.  Treatises on the topics of family law, construction law, and limited liability companies can also be accessed through Loislaw.

9/13/04 EBIA Handbooks Added

     The library now has numerous titles published by Employee Benefits Institute of America, which are available in the members only section. The titles include the following:  401(K) Plans, Cafeteria Plans, COBRA, ERISA-Compliance for Health and Welfare Plans, GMPH-Group Health Plans:Federal Mandates Other Than COBRA and HIPAA, and HIPAA-Portability and Privacy.

6/11/04-Ohio Forms Added

     A large selection of Ohio domestic relations, criminal, probate, corporate, securities and real estate law forms are now available in the members only section.  These forms can be downloaded in Word or WordPerfect format.  The can be accessed by opening either the Matthew Bender or the Anderson's CD's folders.

1/13/04-Wireless Network

     The law library now has a wireless network.  Members who have laptops that are equipped with wireless cards or chips can now connect to the library network while working in the law library. 

1/3/04-Oberlin Court Rules

    Oberlin Municipal Court has recently prepared local rules and they are now available in the rules section of our web page. 

10/13/03-Ohio Cases and Ohio Jury Instructions

     Ohio case law and Ohio Jury Instructions are now available in the members only section.  They can be accessed by opening the Matthew Bender folder, or the Anderson CD's folder.   

09/23/03-Probate Forms and Updated Rules

     Forms used in the Lorain County Probate Court are now available in the court rules section of the web page.  The forms are in PDF format.  Also, the Lorain County Probate Rules were updated recently and this 2003 version is also available in the rules section.

03/05/01-Lorain County Court Rules 

   We've now added the court rules for Domestic Relations, Juvenile, and Probate Courts.  They are stored as PDF files and can be either viewed or printed.

01/11/01- New Remote Desktop Access to LCLLA Server

   The "Members Only" section has been greatly improved.  Now, instead of accessing individual applications, members will logon to a complete desktop.  You will still be able to access the powerful research tools which were available remotely...Plus now you will also be able to fully utilize the expanded resources of the Library system.  Examples of these are direct application Faxing, storage to CD-RW,  shared Network Storage, secure Archival Backup, high-speed download of MP3 and Internet Graphics and a new Brief Bank.

  New features will be added all the time.  This system will provide resources found in the expensive networks of large firms for the price off Library Membership.  Another advantage to the new design is a Single Login and a more reliable Citrix Client.  For more information contact the Library Staff or the engineers at KCS Systems.

06/05/00 - New Lexis Research Tools and ODHS Electronic Manuals

Now you can access important federal information from our “Members Only” section.  Statutory and administrative law is now available in the Code of Federal Regulations and United States Code Service.  Federal Supreme Court cases are available in the United States Supreme Court Reports, Lawyers Edition.   

Publications from the Ohio Department of Human Resources are also at the “Members Only” section.  The disc includes The Child Support Enforcement Manual, The Food Stamp Handbook, State Medicare Services publications, and selected Ohio Administrative Code sections.

05/15/00 - New Java® Access to Business and Research Programs

Macintosh® users will be pleased to finally have access to the Programs available through the Members Only section.  Using Java® Access, users with Macintosh, older versions of Internet Explorer, Solaris, or other Java compatible browsers can utilize the extensive library of Research and Business Application  resources. 

Please read the instructions in the Macintosh section of the New User page.  These instructions apply to any browser or operating system which will use the Java Access system.

Imagine accessing legal research programs from your Pocket PC or Handheld Computer while sitting in the airport or at court.  All you need is a Palm or Handheld PC with Java compatible browser and CDMA cellular service.  For more information about Java and Remote Access Tools contact the engineers at KCS Systems.
